Tuesday evening

So.

Got balls in the air to cover this…   disaster?  event? One’s too far out there and one isn’t even close.

Whatever.

Talked with the apartment manager.  I was suave, well spoken, amusing; totally serious.  Got the St. Vincente de Paul number she’d told me of regarding rent assistance and an agreement that my rent situation would have to be reviewed when I know what the doctor thinks tomorrow.

Talked with the boss too.  He’s gonna put up the hundred bucks I need to see the doc tomorrow, and we had a long talk (mr. eloquence here) about what I need to have happen if I’m gonna avoid losing pretty much everything (getting evicted, losing all my stuff, what little there is of it, and my cat ).  I listened to myself in amazement.  He knows it’s his "fault"- the negligence to provide a safe legal work vehicle for me to do the job- his job – in.  He’s not happy about it and not real eager to have me sit on my ass at his expense, but neither am I.

Eager to sponge off anyone, that is.  It’s bad for the self-esteem.

I’ll pick up his check, cash it before the appointment, and see what the doc has to say.  I want to go back to earning my own way as soon as possible.  "Possible" depending on how my foot heals.

But hey.  I’m only 44.  I’ve always healed pretty fast before.  Besides, the sooner I get back on my feet, the sooner I can find and get another job.

Upwards and onwards.

I’m glad your boss got the message. Meanwhile, while your memory is fresh write down everything pertinent you can remember about the situation.

This is bad news indeed Cat. I don’t know what to say here except I am so sorry to hear this!I wish I was filthy rich because I would send you money.

I am not very helpful. It made me cry when I read everything that you wrote. I just feel so bad for you. Crying isn’t going to help you and I think it is lack of sleep on my part … I did however think about you at mass saturday night and was saying prayers for you. Weird huh?

take care…hugs P

i’m glad you are getting the support you need right now, especially from your boss. granted it is in his self-interest, but still, he didn’t need to do that. take the time to heal that foot so you don’t have problems in the future with it. hugs.

I’m glad your boss came through for the appointment. It kind of shows that he is taking responsibility. I’m also pleased to hear that you are considering looking for a different job, I’ve thought all along that you were overqualified and might enjoy doing something a bit more stimulating and what I percieved as more suitable to your personality. Out there charming all you see 🙂 Take care,

I just read my run on sentance. Oh my, I’m sorry. I guess I won’t be looking for a job as a proof reader or a writer any time soon!
