The HP printer I’ve been using for years was getting persnickity about just how thick a paper it would injest and so it was not printing the 8.5 x 11s that I wanted it to.

Damn thing.

I want to publically proclam that I did NOT wreck the balky POS.  I felt like it, but it gets a new secondary position, for text only, because I replaced it as a photo printer today with a Canon ip2600 that I found at wallyworld for $30.

The 2600 set up was easy – it took me longer to make space for it than it did to run the setup program, and so far it’s printed out half a dozen 8.5 x 11 photos – and they are gorgeous.

One thing though….

Crater Lake looks really unworldly in photos – it’s SOOOOO blue, and it ain’t just the prints – it really is the bluest blue you’ve ever seen.  It is an unworldly place, and the scale of it is Immense – you feel tiny.

The water in Crater Lake is The Clearest Anywhere – visibility is 132 feet – which helps make it SO blue – all colors but blue are absorbed into the depths of the lake… except right around Wizard Island:

You can see the undersurface of Wizard Island here, but elsewhere in the lake you can see no bottom – it’s greatest depth is 1932 feet, and most of the lake’s bottom is very steep, falling away from the sides straight into the depths of the lake.  For that reason, and the fact that the water in Crater Lake is some of the purest on the planet, there is no swimming allowed here.

Parts of the Oregon coast are Immense like that:

One thing I’ve always liked about Oregon is that it’s not to human scale – it’s way bigger than that.

Speaking of the coast, I posted a pic of this place the other day and misidentified it as "The Devil’s Cauldron".

There is one of those here, but it’s not on the coast – this is "The Devil’s Churn".  It didn’t look like no swimmin’ hole to me:

Yeah i don’t think I could see myself swimming in that. WOW that’s crazy, and the pics of crater lake are gorgeous! I’m pretty fascinated by water in general so anything like that amazes me. amazing ha! later. ~♥~

oh wow.. Soo beautiful.I so want to go there and see that in person myself one of these days.

It just takes my breath away. I seriously, seriously have to experience this place in person soon! Light of heart,

That 3rd picture is fantastic. You know you should look into work as a tour guide. Either your own business or someone elses.
