Off to prison again

Now that I have the weekends free, I can drive my friend down to Salem to see his kid in prison.  We’ll be going tomorrow morning for the Noon visting hours. 

It may be a good thing we couldn’t visit the kid the last time we tried (have to be there during visiting hours, for one thing) because-

The kid’s been transferred to a completely different facility, so he was’nt there.

In mind of the last attempt’s fiasco, I got the name of the prison and looked it up online and got the visiting hours and the address and printed it all out, and my friend says he called to confirm that we could visit Sunday.

I’ve got the GPS set up to take us there (and the new place isn’t too far from the place he was in before) so we won’t go to the wrong prison (yesss, I fully enjoyed our visit to OSP – most especially driving out of there) like we did the first time we did this.

Good news about the kid – he’s in like the minimalist prison in the system, a work farm and etc. and is in programs to get out for Good Behavior.  And he’s like, Non-Violent, so we’ll probably see him out in a year or so.

Tomorrow’s drive is just 40 some miles down I-5, so I’m looking forward to a better drive on Monday.

It will be -27c on Tuesday morning, so winter is here.

(-27c looks more horrible than 22f, but either way, it’s COLD.  I saw -26f once at Great Lakes NS in Chicago.  That was TOO COLD)

Maybe Multnomah Falls WILL be iced over.  Could be a picture or two there.
