I predict trouble

So, I filled out my online Unemployment claim and it said… "Payment will be delayed while we investigate".

Oh shit.

On the one hand, it’s a good thing I made the car payment when I got fired – I own that for another month.  The gas for today’s trip to the prison to see my friend’s kid is going to be paid for.

I wanted to make a long drive tomorrow, but in light of the situation, a shorter drive is in order.  Maybe we’ll explore the Columbia Gorge.

I started the ball rolling last week on food stamps – that also was going to have to wait on my former boss.

This is where I say "don’t fuck with me".

Like I can really do much about it.

They will investigate as to why you were fired. If your Boss wants to be a dick, he can screw you out of your unemployment. You will have to contest it. Since I don’t really know the details, I can’t say for sure what Unemployment will do. I will hope for the best for you. 🙂

that happened with me. they’re getting really sticky about it these days – I’m sure you will get it, and they usually pay the back payment when they do.

hmmmm, sorry things are tough right now cat. Been there.

I hope things work out for you (as they say, good things always happen to good people; you seem like a very sincere and genuine person from what I have read of your diary). I am sorry to hear about all the problems you are dealing with at the moment…I hope and pray that the payments are made to you real soon and that things pan out for you. . . Take care, God bless and be well my friend.

About a thousand years ago, I applied for and received Unemployment. The rep told me that according to law, the ex employer has the right to two weeks of investigation and that most employers took those two weeks automatically. Course, that was a thousand years ago and in Texas.

I’ve always been denied unemployment, so being out of work meant one step closer to homelessness. I am so glad that you have a stable place to live and I get a good feeling that you’ll get unemployment going again.
