a busy day…and not so busy after all++

First up, coffee at 9 with Annie, the cook here, who went with me on a couple of outings to the Rose Garden and the Gorge.  She took my pea coat a while back to resew the buttons on it – I had not done a good job of that.  I’ll have to ask her about her plans – there’s been no breakfast downstairs for the last week (not that I’ve had any extra cash anyway).

Got my pea coat back, but Annie has to go to the airport – it was a short visit

The vet’s office opens at 9, so I have to contact them regarding the exam and insulin they offered me, the result of Pongo and Dove Lewis helping me to help my cat.

I’ll call them in a few minutes, at 9:30.  That won’t fall through.

I am just short of the cash I need for car insurance, but I will call them and work something out – I feel fairly confident that I will have some more cash next week (thank you).

crossing my fingers that it works out – and it probably will

Then at noon, I am supposed to go over to my cousin’s house.  His wife is helping me with some self-education, to be a better person, and though it’s under the guise of religious training, the end result is to make me a better person.

just got a text message from my cousin’s wife – no time today; we’ll meet Monday

I have more of K*’s pictures to post – I mean, I won’t leave y’all hanging – what is Memaloose anyway?

Annie just called. I have to go

Well, that was a short visit.

I did give her the two CD’s of pictures I took while we were on our outings – a couple hundred.  I am starting to get it – my pics make good gifts.  Something that’s like, so easy I don’t think about it much, taking pictures.  I just see ’em.  It’s kind of the same thing as college was – it was too easy, so easy I just don’t get it that some think it’s hard.  I mean, heck, I’m here in Oregon, where there is great beauty all around – how could you take a bad picture of any of it?  Yeah, I have a somewhat over-inflated opinion of myself, but I do take good pictures.

The pics I’ve been posting lately as Guest Photographer pics were taken by my former wife/friend from Japan.  In my not at all humble opinion, my Nikon has better color rendition than her way more new and fancy and higher res Canon camera, but she sees different things than I do sometimes.  She actually paid me a very high compliment this summer.  For years, I thought of her as a better photographer – she had a better SLR than I did, and took lots of pictures in college, of her art work, and I just feel second rate to most everyone else anyway

Well, secretly, I know I take better pictures than most, but I have always, and I mean always, felt that I was’nt good enough.  Not good enough for most of everything, and lucky to get any crumbs off the table.  Repeated abandonments, or the perception thereof will do that to you.  You question your self-worth, and if it’s really bad, sneer at it and believe that the compliments that people pay you are just something for them to say that means nothing, really.

Anyway, she told me that she thinks I am by far the better photographer – 11,000 pics with this digi-cam and thousands with the various 35mm’s I’ve had, and posting more than 9,000 pics here, time after time.  I believe her.  Kind of.

("Time after time")

Ok, the best laid plans and all that, but I have to go to and or call the vet.  Blacky is looking pretty content, on the table in front of the microwave.  First thing I do, after a stop in the bathroom, is feed him and give him his morning shot.  He has a pretty good life.  So far. so good with his diabetes.

Ok, the vet. Then we’ll find out what "Memaloose" is, in the next round of Guest Photographer pictures.

And the receptionist at the vet’s office doesn’t know anything about any of this – "we don’t give away exams or insulin, and who is Pongo anyway?" she said with a Republican tone.  Ooo- kay, I will have Pongo call YOU and tell YOU what your doctor agreed to already.

OK.  Now we’re "on the same page".  TG I am not in immeadiate need. That little bottle will probably last into next week, and by then, Pongo tells me not to worry, that one way or another, Blackie will get what he needs.

<p style="text-align: center”>I’m going to have to dry these tears and go volunteer for them.  One has to do his best to repay favors.

good for you on the cigs! *facepalm* on the vet. ugh.

receptionist, I mean. not the vet himself.

Sometimes I wonder why people even work in vet’s offices when they have attitude like that. It also just shows the level of communication(none) in that office. serious eye rolling going on over here.

Also some serious eye-rolling here too. ANYONE who works in a job that is related to assisting those who are less fortunate need to be more charitable and maybe just a tad less snarky!! Maybe?? I learned that during working in a law office for the largest part of the last 28 years!!

oooo-kay indeed. count me as an eye-roller too. sheesh.
