News Year’s Day, I got this new camera.  It’s a Nikon (I heart Nikons) but it’s a 14M unit, whereas the Nikon I’ve been using for years is a "2M equialent".  They work largely the same – I guess all digital cameras are pretty similar, maybe.  Different though.

I’m curious to see what kind of pictures I get out of this L24.  It seems to be set up to be a "point and shoot" camera – a lot of automatic functions on it, but I’ve always liked to be a little more precise (although the electronics these days are programmmed pretty well).  There are some things you can play with and set differently, but I’ll have to experiment some more.

Yesterday and today, I took some shots with the new camera to see how they look.  Good thing I’ve got lots of hard drive space nowadays, because at 14M, these pics take up a lot of room.  857 left on the 8G card in the camera, so lots of room to shoot pictures.

You know, for research purposes.

That’s why I have to go out to Crown Point this evening.  I have to see what kind of sunset shots this camera will take.

Uh huh.  Research.

Plans.

Hmmm.  Plans should be like, realisitically formed.  I came home from visiting A and put a pot pie in the microwave and sat down to write this, forgetting, I guess, that it’s really just January 5th.  It may be dry and surprisingly warm for a beginning of January day, but no matter what the weather looks like, the sun sets at the same time – it’s on a different schedule.

I wrote that piece, waited for the pot pie to cool ( I LOVE Marie Calendars pot pies) and read some online.

I ate my pot pie (yumm ) and I see that by 4:10 it was too late to go to catch the sunset at Crown Point.  Sheeesh.  It’s going down NOW.

I will have to like, plan it out better, since it was kind of a spur-of-the moment kind of thing anyway.

It IS supposed to be a nice day tomorrow….
