I just wanna say (edit)
Mom taught me to be, someone recently told me, humble and modest.
I did really well in Japan; I was not the Ugly foreigner; I don’t really fit well here.
So, the Olympics reports, the tally of how many medals the US has, are kind of offensive to me.
You can’t really tell here, since I’m Telling you, but in real life, I am modest and humble, and don’t "toot my own horn" much.
Having a visitor stay over a couple of days this week was fun,but I didn’t get to finish any of my stories. That’s one thing I really like about OD – I get to Finish my stories.

When I get to writing them down. I need to keep a note book, I guess, because this keyboard has this magical process of erasing my thoughts.
Anyway, I just wanted to say that "look how many medals we’ve got!" kinda bothers me – I mean, those are The Best athletes in The World, and that’s enough, don’t you think?
btw it is the hottest day in a thousand days here.

I do like to Watch the Olympics. The things that humans can do with their bodies – and with their horses bodies – are amazing and wonderful to see.
I admire the human form; sports contests usually bring good views of bodies in motion.
These are The Best Athletes in The World.
It’s just that the medal count seem chauvinistic and a little Kindergarten in tone sometimes.

What’s wrong with being proud? Because other countries lost? They’ll get over it.

i’m proud of the hard work the athletes have done and i want to know how many medals we’ve won. i also want to win the most and have the most winning athletes come from my country. i get teary and choked up with chills running up and down my spine every time i see the american flag in the top position and hear our national anthem. i can see how some would feel like you but i’m the opposite…. i want to know. take care,

I don’t think it is a lack of pride you have in your country – my thoughts are that there are some actions (from your country / leaders) you are less comfortable and proud of. I have not watched any of the Olympics because I see it as such a huge expenditure when my country cannot afford to spend in this way and there are so many other people in this world who could benefit from all the money andenergy placed in producing these games. Very best wishes, A

It *is* kind of brag-gy to keep score like that, isn’t it? Beats war, though.
