Sherrad Point
Sherrad Point is the tip-top of Larch Mountain, and is the highest point between the ocean and Mt. Hood, Oregon’s tallest peak.
There’s a good view of Mt. hood here:

On a good clear day here, you can see five of the Cascade peaks; Mt. St. Helens, Mt.. Adams, and Mt. Rainier in Washington, and Mt. hood and Mt. Jefferson in Oregon. It would have been a very good, clear day in the Los Angeles of my youth, but it was a hazy day in the Pacific Northwest of 2012 because of fires, and Hood was the only peak I could really see this day.

Looking north towards Mt. Rainier.

Mt. Adams is that way.

A ghost of Mt. St. Helens could be glimpsed.

From the north side of Sherrad Point, you feel like you gained some elevation, for sure:

Part of the trail to Multnomah Falls runs past the clearings below and zig-zags from here down to our left.

Mt. Hood, the closest peak, was still somewhat indistinct because of the haze in the air.

Looking west:

We can see Camas Washington from here today, but on a better day we’d see parts of the Portland/Vancouver metro area in the far distance too.
Last up, Mt. Hood was the only sort of clear peak. Stay tuned, I took some shots of it.

Beautiful, and so interesting to see clearer or less clear views of mountains on different days.
