same scene, over and over

I do take "the same pictures" over and over, but each moment is a point in time and is unique.

Yeah, sounds like an excuse, but it’s true, and if the scene is beautiful, well, more beauty is needed in this world.

Today, my subject is the pool of the lower falls at Multnomah Falls, Oregon.

(35 minutes from home)

Behind me is the lower falls of Multnomah Falls:

Benson Bridge spans the lower falls above me, and from there, you can see the lower falls in all seasons.

From the observation platform in front of the lower falls, this is the view:

In this series, we will look down from the bridge into the pool of the lower falls.

These two pictures are of the exact same thing, but several years apart:

The same, but different.

Now, this is pretty much the same shot, looking directly down from Benson Bridge:

But, it is of a completely different season in the Columbia Gorge, and this is one of my favorite shots.

In the wet season, the flow of water over these lower falls is of great volume:

The falls are timeless:

35 minutes away from my home.

I live in a place of Great Beauty.

Yes, you do. Indiana is pretty, but it is not beautiful. You are quite the lucky man to get to experience that beauty everyday.

Wow, these pics are absolutely amazing, stunning, makes me wanna visit the place coz I absolutely adore water falls. The view of the log in the 3rd pic looks like the bones of a giants legs… lol
