Practice and it gets faster
I dunno about this video card. The colors were off on the big monitor, but instead of making sure the connector was tight, FIRST, I assumed that the software needed updating and… after that, the computer would NOT start.
Complete reformat of the hard drive
Damn.
Going on six hours now, but I’m not really done; the sound card, the printer, and the scanner still need to be loaded – even though they are hooked up, I guess I still have to "tell the computer" that all that is there.
If I hadn’t gotten that 2 Tb USB drive to save things on, I’d be crying now.
Sigh. The reformat disks date from 1999 – 2002 – ancient by computer standards.

I admire you for being able to do this. Hope it works out well. How are you getting on line? YOu must have already told the computer how to do basic stuff?

I had to do this, more or less, yesterday, due to my Bad Virus. No fun, and it un-registered my copy of Microsoft Office, which of course I don’t have the key to. Hope it worked out for you.
