Floating on a meringue pudding

I woke up this morning at 10, and felt like I had slept the entire morning away. But then the town bell only chimed 9 times, and I remembered that I should have sent the clocks back an hour before bed. I love that gaining one little hour completely removed the ‘must get out of bed and start the day instantly’ feeling, and I could take my time in waking up properly… and building up the courage to get out of the deliciously warm bed and into the freezing cold apartment.

At least it didn’t take me as long as it did a handful of years ago. I was at a sleepover with Jenn and Ellen, and on Sunday morning we watched Video Hits and were massively confused that it ended at 1, instead of the usual midday. Didn’t occur to us until a few hours later when we were heading home and Ellen checked her phone and noticed it daylight-saved itself. Which my phone did not to today. But that did mean I discovered the cool ‘world clock’ feature on my phone. Yeah, I haven’t really fully explored all the little bits and things my phone has. It would be nice to know everything that my phone can do, but this way I get to be surprised for ages. And I do like little surprises. Especially when they are stripey and can go on my feet.

Nature was being absolutely beautiful on our walk this afternoon. There were also huge amounts of geese flying around in formations. Mostly in Vs, but there was one lot that I swear… were in the shape of a giant foam hand. You know, the kind with the index finger straight and the rest tucked up? It was hilarious. They hid behind the trees too quickly for me to capture such amusement in photographic form.

Bed is calling me, with it’s soft warm fluffy blanket under the doona, making the whole thing a lovely bucket of snuggle. One day we will get flannel sheets, or something that actually keeps us warm, but for now a fantastic giant blanket shall do the job.

I wish I could escape this excessive metallic smell.

My phone has world clock… I always have it set to show me New York time, even though I pretty much always know New York time, the only confusing part is in the few weeks around daylight savings time. I thought we swapped at about the same time, so its like a two hour change… but apparently now there’s like 5 weeks difference. It’s a little confusing… Anyhoo, before I got hella sidetracked in this nort, I was gonna say, I always have New York, and then I rotate other cities depending on other things. Like I had Tokyo on there for a bit obviously. And I had both Egypt and Austria on there last year while Johanna was away. And now next year I need to add Copenhagen cause Johanna got offered a 6-month internship in Denmark, which is pretty excellent. I’m gonna see you soon! 😀 *huggles*

Why is there an excessive metallic smell? My phone does lots of things that I know nothing about. I am happy to use it for texts, phone calls and an alarm clock. I have no idea how to make use of all the other things on the menus. What an idiot I am.

oooh, I wanna add that my phone tells me Irish time and Oz time right there on the front. I like that. My watch has all cities I can flip thru, I like that too obviously. My computer doesn’t understand daylight savings… I have to fix the time everytime despite me telling it to sync to the server so it can do it itself. It’s confusing when I forget
