Switzerland

I slept in this morning until 8:45 so I would be well rested for my trip to Switzerland later today. I’m flying coach instead of business since the company lets us pocket part of the difference in the ticket price. The $1000 bucks was hard to turn down. I’m meeting the 2 newest members of my group over there to introduce them along with some other business stuff that I won’t clutter my diary with.

I always look forward to visits there. The people I see over there are very hospitable and the country is very much to my liking. I’m always struck by how old everything is. In the US it’s all about growth while over there it’s about sustainability. I think they’ve got it right. We can’t continue to grow forever. All we really do is abandon our cities and move further out.  I know this is a generalization but I see a lot of evidence for it. 

Just a short entry today since I still have to pack and be at the airport in 3 hours. Maybe I’ll get to write an entry or 2 while I’m there. Returning next Friday.
