Round Two
Today is my actual court date! This is it! This is the day that will either make or break my bank account for the next couple of months. Keep your fingers crossed for a gracious judge who will wipe away the suspended license ticket and also waive all court fees… because $600 is a huge amount of money for somebody who is absolutely broke and still having problems finding a second job.
Last night, in anticipation of this looming day, I decided to banish myself to the kitchen (because being in there always reduces my stress). I made roasted chicken with mashed potatoes, gravy, and steamed green beans fresh from the farmers market. It was magical. I also started a sourdough starter so that I could make bread today (because I’m also planning on making homemade broccoli cheese soup for dinner). My sourdough is rising and in a couple of hours I will be able to shape them into beautiful little rounds and then bake them into bread bowls!
On a side note: I really dislike the dough hook that came with my Kitchenaid Mixer. The dough always sticks to it, and I mean always. I’ve tried using it probably 20 times since I purchased the mixer from a friend last year and have had the problem no matter what- even after using cooking spray on it and reducing the amount of dough in my bowl. The thing is just a piece of crap. So, this time I kneaded the bread by hand… I’m hoping for great, chewy results. I’ll keep you posted.
i’m wishing you lots and lots of luck!!!! you should post photos of the foods you make. they sound delish!
