Good.
I feel so lazy. I slept until almost 11 this morning- that is very out of the ordinary for me.
I closed at work last night and walked with almost $250. I love nights like that. The best part is that not once during the evening did I feel overwhelmed or incredibly busy- the restaurant was packed but my tables were all very cooperative and all magically seemed to order at the same time (which almost makes it seem as you only have one table instead of, say, five) or order at times that I didn’t have anything going on. At the end of the night (happy hour) I had five 2 tops, two one tops, a 5 top and a 10 top going at the same time. See? Busy. But I managed to somehow make it work. I suppose it helped that most were just drinking beer and having appetizers rather than eating a full meal.
Anyway, Everybody received good service, everybody was in a good mood, and the night went by quickly because I wasn’t doing a lot of standing around.
I’m hoping for a repeat tonight! For the third night in a row I’m scheduled as the closer.
Oh! I forgot to mention: two nights ago I served Minnesota Vikings player Bernard Berrian and last night I served local Fox news anchor Robyne Robinson. 🙂 It’s been a week of local celebrities at our little up-and-coming restaurant! lol.
Dave has been perfect this past week. He readily admits that he has had a bad attitude these past couple of months and promised me that he was going turn himself around. He’s been very affectionate- inviting me over daily for afternoon snuggle time before I have to go to work. It’s been nice because that was probably my favorite part about living with him and the thing that I’ve missed most- being able to crawl into bed with him in the afternoon when he’s getting close to waking up for the day and I’m ready for my midafternoon nap before work. Because I’m now getting that afternoon time, I don’t feel so inclined to see him at night after work (when I’m often so tired that I just want to collapse into a heap).
He told me that he’s going to make me a key for his apartment today, so that’s cool.
Life is good again.
$250 is about 1/2 of what I bring home in a week…lol
