Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand it begins!!

My night, I mean. My weekend, I guess. I actually went in to work today; I worked 4 1/2 hours of overtime in attempt to get caught up as I’m currently drowning in work. Partially because I’ve decided that I’m burned out and don’t really like my job all that much because I pretty much feel like a human machine. A command is given to you. You follow a sequence to get to a final outcome. You receive another task. You follow another sequence to get to another outcome. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat… 60 or so times per day. Some of the tasks are just repeats of previous tasks, but for different people. Other tasks look like previous tasks but turn into NIGHTMARE tasks that take two hours to complete because I don’t know what the fuck I’m doing and nobody does anrything the same way, though they try to push the appearance of semblance. So of course nothing that I’m doing is ever right. Even though it’s right when another team leader checks my work.

Face, meet palm!

I bought a big bottle of Cheap Red Wine. No, really:

I’m about halfway through it. Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. (Sidenote: A year or so ago I really liked this shit- it’s cheap and smooth and very straight forward. It’s a California table wine [read: varietal] but it’s not awful. And when you’re looking to get drunk and keep it cheap and not feel like ass in the morning [wine never gives me hangovers]………. anyway, I’m no longer a fan. Living with large amounts of money in my pocket from January through August left me spoiled. Fuck, I need a new job.)

Aside from working a decent chunk of my day away, my day has been good. After work I went to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription for my long acting insulin which I’ve been out of for FOUR DAYS. If you don’t know much about diabetes, or know very little, you’ll either see this as no big deal or a GIANT DEAL. It’s really neither. I had enough short acting insulin to keep my blood sugar at relatively normal levels during the day, the only time it got ugly was midway through the night and when I’d wake up in the morning. Sleeping all night without that long acting stuff pumping through my body left me with ugly blood sugar in the morning… which is miserable. Imagine sleeping 9 hours and not feeling rested. Imagine waking up every night at 3am CONVINCED that your blood sugar is soaring only to stumble all over the apartment for twenty minutes to find your glucose monitor and find that your blood sugar is normal (forgive me, I’m paranoid). Anyway, all is better now. I feel so much better! Note to self: don’t let yourself get so detached that your prescriptions expire and you don’t realize it until you’re ready to refill your prescription. I should keep a calendar.

Okay, you’re bored. I’m drunk. Let’s move on. Dave’s apartment is getting foreclosed on!!!!!!!!!(!!!!!!!!!!!!!)!! Seriously! He was playing poker online in his underwear the other day when he heard a knock at the door. He figured it was a mistake as he wasn’t expecting anybody. He answered the door to find a lawyer with a pile of papers. Apparently Dave’s landlord hasn’t been paying his bills… the landlord is $25,000 behind on his mortgage. Dave doesn’t seem to concerned about the whole issue… the apartment is going up for auction in December. Dave says that the bank usually ends up buying them, which would then buy the owner 6 months to pay off the mortgage and buy it back. Dave and John’s lease would be up by then.

Soooooo hopefully it goes that way. If not (and some other party buys the condo), then Dave and John could be forced out immediately after the auction. Which would suck. Imagine moving in late December in Minnesota. Ugh.

I’m really great at rambling when I’m drunk and home alone. Look at me!

After picking up the prescription I met Clint, Colin, and Colin’s friend Mike for bloody marys. I had one, then went to Dave’s and lounged with him until 8:00. It’s 9:30…. yeah, drunkness happens quickly when you slam half a giant bottle of wine with not a lot of food in your stomach. Which reminds me…. I have leftover pho in the fridge.

This place has the best pho in Minneapolis, hands down.Clearly the person who put together the webpage has never won a spelling bee, but ignore that. The food! Oooohh the food.

I’m supposed to go out with Jackie tonight and she’s working at the restaurant until who knows when. I’ve become a total slave to my schedule and may not last until she gets home. Ugh, I haven’t even showered today!! I overslept and then rolled out of bed and went straight to work, then straight to the pharmacy, then straight to bloody marys, then straight to Dave’s… I should be in the shower now.

Yes. Shower time. If I end up doing anything tonight I will post pictures in the morning. I’m on an OD roll starting tonight. Just you watch.
