THIS is what you’ve been missing in my absence

The CEO of my company is really loud. You always know when he’s in the building because he walks around bellowing (in a friendly way- he’s not pushing people around… just talking/bellowing) to everybody that he sees. He’s an expert small-talker. I just listened to him have a 5 minute conversation with two employees about the expiration date of something in the refrigerator. The employees were extremely eager to give their two cents about how they handle expired food, so I suppose that that makes the small-talking easier from his end. People are funny.
At least they weren’t talking about their children! I swear, I don’t know 95% of the people in this company but I could give you the names and approximate ages of their children by the sound of their parent’s voice. For some of my co-workers, their children are truely all that I ever hear them talk about- I could give you alllll kinds of details about their children (birth dates, the last time they were sick, what foods they hate, etc). It’s crazy.
Anyway, I’m bored. Today has been a very uneventful, slow day. I went to Macy’s on my lunch break and returned an adorable sweater dress that I bought a week or two ago because it began unraveling before I ever even got to wear it. It was sad.
I have absolutely nothing going on tonight. Dave is going to the Wild game with his friends and I’m not sure what Jackie is going to be up to. Rachel and I talked about going to the gym, but I’m not sure whether or not that is actually going to happen.
I’m super excited to hang with Dave tomorrow night- we’re going to brew some beer! Woop woop.
Aaaahhhh I’m bored!
Man I hate the kid-talk in the office. You’d be surprised though how much it gets cut down by working in a male-dominated office. Good luck with the beer- FYI adding too much sugar in an attempt to make it more alcoholic is a BAD idea. Blech. 😉
Warning Comment
yeah, most people only talk about their kids once they have kids.
