I am an (arghhh) middle-aged woman who is just trying to put one foot after another on this journey we know as life. I have a wonderful husband, two lovely adult daughters, a delightful adult son and three wonderful granddaughters but none of us are perfect.

Although man is imperfect, God is perfect and God has been more than good to me, He has been everything and has provided everything. And when times have been tough, He somehow brought me through and He’s had to plumb some pretty dark depths to do it so I can testify to His persistence!

But I’m a Christian, not a stereotype, so that means I’m a conglomeration if the many things that make me - me. I just hope my Christianity helps to tie and hold those things together.

Ugh, I'm so depressed. When I feel this way, it feels like it's going to last forever, even if I am only feeling it for a few minutes. I'm off my anti-depressants. I've been bobbing around from one prescription to another, each having its own set of side problems, the latest being an issue with&h...

    October 8, 2022
This morning as I stumbled into the bathroom, for some reason I was reminded of when I was little and I used to have to squint when I woke up in the middle of the night or the early morning and faced the daylight (or harsh lamplight). Of course, I still have to do that…

  • Giving it another try…
    October 5, 2022
Every month I see the charge for this come up and I get mad at myself for not writing. I am determined to give this another try. One of the reasons I've been bad about it is because I get in here and start reading everybody else's diaries. I have decided I need to just…

  • Writing is a horrendous curse sometimes
    June 26, 2022
I hate being a writer. I love being a writer. It is a curse. When you write something, you work so hard on it. You are overjoyed when your publisher decides to take it. Then you think to yourself, why the heck did I DO this because you enter the editing phase and that’s just so…

  • Old OD
    June 25, 2022
I came across some old OD entries in my Google drive. They were from way back in 2004. In one of them, I had recommended actors to play the parts of various favorites, OD friends I had. A few of my OD friends are still actually friends in FB, but most I have no idea…

  • Granddaughters
    May 31, 2022
It has been pretty busy for me but not with bad things. The best thing, though, was spending time with my granddaughter. I have three granddaughters. One of them is 23 and has graduated from college. She’s smart and pretty and easy to like. She’s fun and personable. She’ll be going to grad school...

    May 19, 2022
So if I leave advice in your diary, please keep that in mind. I actually don't know much at all, I just THINK I do. I especially think I do when I get emotional about something. The more RIGHT I think I am, the more I think I know. I can be very outspoken about…

Life is weird. My emotions tumble around as if they’re in a spin dryer. Sometimes things seems so beautiful, it’s painful. Other times, I can’t believe how horrible the world is. I guess I also feel like a sort of survivor’s guilt. My life actually IS pretty wonderful, but so many around me have ...

  • Sinning… it gets confusing…
    May 15, 2022
So the sermon this morning was about “as long as it doesn’t hurt anybody…” Of course we all know the fallacy of THAT particular misbelief but he gave examples of things that really DO hurt people, of things that were more like “what they don’t know won’t hurt them…” ie: it won’t hurt her if…

Dandelion Tea made a post of a short list of Happiness is… things (an idea she had gotten from Percival, I think). I was going to do an old mopey post, but I think I’ll do the happiness list instead. ;-) Like Dandelion Tea, I’ll have to start with that first morning sip of coffee……
