Hi there! I'm not good at these things, but I'll give it a go. I'm Jess. I'm a mother and wife, an interpreter, and an empath. I practice reiki and other forms of alternative healing. I'm a gamer (mostly tabletop RPGs and board games). I write about whatever's on my mind. No real rhyme or reason to it. Feel free to stick around. I hope to invoke some fun dialogue from time to time and maybe make a few new friends.

Reiki

I am so excited to share with you all that I will be teaching my first Reiki class this coming July. I've wanted to get to this place for a few years now, and I'm finally making it happen. I couldn't do it without the support of a few very special people, but it's really…

  • OD is coming to an end for me
    February 26, 2019
Well, friends, I'm going to have to cancel my OD account. We are cutting back on expenses at home, and since I'm rarely on here, I've decided to give it up. It's been a good run, and I hate to lose all of these memories, but maybe it's good to move on. I wish you…

  • Depression sucks
    October 7, 2018
Depression and its little friend anxiety need to find a new hobby. Life hasn't been ideal lately, but it really hasn't been too bad. I'm finding it hard to get myself out of bed on the daily, though. It takes all my willpower just to get up and moving, and things around the house are…

    Pride Month
    June 12, 2018
So June is traditionally Pride month for our community, and Saturday was our local Pride festival. We were only able to stay about an hour due to storms that swept through the area, but it was fun while it lasted. We had our kiddo with us, who is 10 and is on the autism spectrum,…

Holy smokes! It feels good to be writing something again. The format has changed a bit, and it's kind of hard to see with the color scheme, but my goodness! Something about this feels so right! Lots has changed since the last time I was here. Here's a brief update: Grandma lost her battle with&he...

  • GenCon is coming soon (and various other things)
    July 21, 2010
So GenCon is 2 weeks away, and I REALLY can't wait! It's going to be nice to get away from the drama of the office (not to mention life in general). We leave on August 4th and will be back on the 8th. I'm taking an extra day away from the office this year, so I…

  • And the crap continues
    July 13, 2010
I'm having a very difficult time coping with things lately. Stress is doubling and tripling up on me, and I'm just ready to scream. I had a really good cry on the way home yesterday, and it helped some. I have a very good friend who is not returning any of my phone calls, and I have&hel...

  • It has been a hell of a week!
    July 1, 2010
I want to start out by saying THANK GODDESS IT IS FRIDAY!!! This past week has been one of the worst I've had in a very long time. Monday started out pretty good, actually. Chris got Aiden's room all picked up and rearranged, and it can now be a play/bedroom. Yay for that! He also got…

  • Weaning and other things
    June 9, 2010
Well, I am finally taking steps to wean Aiden from nursing. It's been a pretty tough week, and I'm pretty emotionally drained, but we are working on it. The past 2 nights I've been able to rock him and read him a book before laying him in the crib and rubbing his back until he…

  • Wonderful Work
    June 3, 2010
So life has a funny way of making things work out, but it isn't always an easy journey to get there. I started my new job this week at the office. I went from being a part time staff interpreter (20 hours a week) to being a full time staff interpreter/interpreter supervisor. It's been a rock...
