Hi and welcome to my diary.

I'm a bit of a hermit, and currently my main occupation is "being sick". Yay. Disability pension for me. (not as much fun as it sounds.)

Feel free to leave a note or few. I don't write every day but I try to get back to people.

What lies beneath loneliness

June 21, 2013
Irritation, a terrible frustration.  Infuriated that I keep pushing myself to do chores and more chores, until it's time to sleep and I haven't even had dinner.  And nothing nice!  Nothing good!  So longing for... for what?  For whom?  Why?  I am lonely, lonely ...

Got a call yesterday from Radha, who was my old meditation teacher back in the day when I was being vegetarian and chanting Hindu mantras.  Yes, that was a very long time ago.  Not for her, it seems.  Nope, she's still there.  Along with a bunch of her scrawny fellow devo...

I don't know how to tell anymore.  I don't know how to tell if I'm exhausted or lazy; tired or cowardly.  I can't tell if I'm giving my body the rest it needs or hiding away in a state of anxiety.  I used to think, like most people, that health and ethics were completely different&...

One of my closest friends is seriously ill and may well die without surgery.  Being a US citizen without health insurance or a wealthy family, it looks like he's in the process of doing just that, with no-one to bother to prevent it.  I've just read a post from someone saying her sister...

Regretfully, for the first time I'm seriously considering leaving my naturopath.  I really hope I find a better solution, but I'm realising it might be necessary.  I'm disappointed to say that when it comes to mental health issues, she's treated me as badly as past doctor...

SUBJECTS ONE TO FOUR Too boring.  It's supposed to be a survey, not a freaking social security form. SUBJECT FIVE- WHICH WOULD YOU PREFER?  Eaten by a lion OR Eaten by thousands of small insects? How ridiculous.  Who would choose insects? Skydiving from a plane OR Bungee jumping of...

Survey #2 1. What's under your bed? bathroom scales, shoes, and a brand new set of dinnerware I lusted over for years, finally bought on sale, and is still sitting unopened years later because I can't justify throwing out my old cracked dishes.    2. When was the last time you cri...

January 1st Survey - Day 1 of JaSurMo 2012 [1] What did you do in 2011 that you have never done before?  Ate raw meat. [2] Did you keep all of last years resolutions? Don't think I made any last year.  [3] Have you any resolutions for next year? Stress less.  Keep life simple.&nbsp...

I went for a walk this evening with a scarf tied round my head.  No, I'm not a Muslim and I'm not trying religions on for size.  I just felt like hiding from the world but needed some exercise.  I'm glad the week's over.  I'd been feeling rather lonely, you see.  I haven'...

The wedding was lovely, and I'm pleased to say that for the first wedding since my divorce, I didn't feel bitter, scornful or begrudging.  Both the bride (my second-cousin) and groom are from quite extreme conservative Christian backgrounds.  Think ankle-length skirts, high prim collars...
