Sublime food, undrinkable wine…

The drawback to any charity event is that you are at the mercy of the sponsors.  In this case, the dinner was one of the finest I have experienced – no surprise, considering Chef Daniel was at the helm.  But the wines were a disaster!  Pinot noir with sea scallop ceviche?  They chickened out at even trying to pair the asparagus course.  I ended up buying a bottle of Champagne and using that for the entire dinner.
