Tell your Children to always call you

Last night I got a scary text from my husband. Today all I can do is hug my children and tell them over and over again that no matter what they do they can always call me.

My husband ran out for snacks at 1am last night and texts me saying he’ll be home late there’s a car in the ditch and he’s stopping to check on them.

An hour later he calls me. There was a group young teenagers who borrowed a car and crashed it into a pole. All of them were too scared/hurt in shock to call their parents or call for help claiming that their cell phones were dead. He stayed there until the ambulance got there, until the parents got there and until the officer was able to take his statement.

But before anyone got else there all of the teenagers left their one friend alone, hurt, and scared. They walked away leaving their friend who couldn’t move. Please tell your kids, your family it’s okay if they make a mistake that they can call you, they can call for help. Thankful other than a few broken bones that child was okay, but it could have been so much worse.

Yes thank goodness for your husband.  What a scary scenario!

Your husband is a good man to have stayed there like that. So many wouldn’t. I can’t believe their “friends” left one friend behind, alone and scared like that. With friends like that, they sure don’t need any enemies.

@caria Right? When he told me that I was in disbelief. All I could think is this poor kid is going to have so much of their life turned upside just from the accident now they will have trust issues too I’m sure.
