wow, Culture Club

October 9, 2006

RYN: Most of our training is on-the-job training, whereby people who are qualified to do the work train us while they’re doing the work. Of the 8 people who are qualified to do the work, only 5 are qualified to train other people. Each of us 4 trainees was assigned one of those qualified trainers as a mentor, and Joel was my mentor. Now that Joel is a supervisor, he won’t be doing the work…

…and so he will have limited opportunities to train us. Since our mentors are supposed to be somewhat responsible for training us, this may mean that Joel will no longer be my mentor.
