One Less Layer

Time: 7:40am

Temp: 7F

Wind: S 2mph

Sky: Light snow

I haven’t had a morning walk in above zero temps since Feb 5!! I shed the snowpants today–can’t stand the swish swish sound. A base layer and fleece pants were sufficient.

We received an inch of light fluffy snow overnight, the kind that would be sparkling if the sun were shining. No new tracks overnight, and a lone rabbit at the feeder this morning. The whistle of a cardinal and peep of a junco were all I heard.

I think about the poor rabbits, but honestly, they’re just not that smart and that determines their fate. They take the same path everytime, and if you follow the path it leads you right to where they are sheltering.
