Mmm… waffles.
Merry christmas!!!!!! Aaahh!
Last night I saw Dave for the first time in about a week- he and his friend BK just returned from their annual snowboarding trip to Snowbird in Utah. It sounds like they had a really wonderful time, but that the snow was wet and heavy. Dave said that he felt really out of shape. I’m blaming it on the thin air and the occasional cigarettes that he smokes.
We exchanged gifts even though I made it clear to him that I didn’t want anything. To make a long story short, I love him to pieces and he buys me stuff all of the time for no reason at all- I don’t feel like he should feel like he has to buy me a Christmas present (I should clarify that he’s never, ever in a million years, eeever implied that he feels that way. It’s how I feel. I know that he loves me and feel that he shouldn’t have to ‘prove it’ on Christmas). Christmas is about spending time with your loved ones- it shouldn’t be about who can spend the most money. I told him to promise me that we’d go camping together sometime this summer- maybe somewhere along the Appalachian trail- and that that would suffice for me. He said that he would. Dave isn’t much for roughing it, so getting him to say that he’d stay in a tent with me was pretty exciting! 🙂
Anyway, I told him that I’d still planned on getting him something- but that I was getting it for him because I knew what I wanted to get him and had been wanting to give it to him for a long time! I spent a very hefty chunk of money on the best beer brewing kit that I could find because I knew that Dave would love it and get a lot of use out of it. He gave me a waffle iron (as I’d mentioned weeks earlier that I wanted one), a Christmas stocking to hang at his parents house (awwww), and two 1 1/2 hour massages at my favorite massage place. I’m soooo pumped to get my massages! I think I’ll schedule the first one for next week.
Tonight Dave and I are going to his parent’s place to celebrate with them. They’ve asked us to spend the night there, so that’s our plan!
Saturday night my parents are coming to town. We’ll all be celebrating at my apartment, and I’m rather excited about it. Jackie and I spent a few hours yesterday afternoon cleaning our whole apartment from top to bottom and it looks and smells beautifully! Few things in life put me in a better mood than a sparkling, clean home.
Okay, I’m off to make some waffles. Enjoy your families, everybody! 🙂
Enjoy your waffles, lady, and a Merry Christmas to you & Dave as well!
