Creative Writing

So, I’ve decided to take a creative writing class as an elective this summer, arguably due to my unexplored masochistic side begging for release, but that’s an issue to be explored later. At any rate, taking the course is entirely illogical, as I could literally pick any class in the entire school curriculum, from dance to elementary economics, and instead I’ve opted for creative writing.

My not so secret reasoning is that I think it’d be fun if I tried a bit of “serious” writing out, however, since I’m aware that I lack the desire or willpower to do so without an incentive, I figure the class will provide me with that. Still, it all seems a little foolish, as I have no reason to expect writing “creatively” is going to be that thrilling for me, and I’m assuring myself of more work than would be necessary with various other courses.

Not to mention that, considering I’ve never even attempted to write anything in the nature of what I’ll be doing in the course (which I’m assuming will consist of short fiction and poetry), there’s little reason to think I’ll be anything but bad at it. Either way, before you start clamoring for it, I doubt you’ll be seeing any of whatever I churn out posted here. Firstly, if it’s decent, then I’m not going to be foolish enough to throw it on OD where it, most assuredly, will be plagiarized, but, then again, if it’s utter crap, I’ll likely shy away from showing it all the same.

So, if it turns out I’m a writing genius, then, you’ll just have to take my word for it.

Who’s your professor for intro? And you’ll probably have a bit of nonfiction thrown in there as well, so at least you know you’ll be good at one thing you do in that class. ^_^

Oh you have to share, can’t make all this fuss about the class and not share.
