I Go Without the Internet for 24 Hours

Yes, in a test of willpower not seen since those stupid beer commercials, I concluded an interval of over 24 hours without any internet access yesterday. Understand, this withdrawal from cyberspace was by no means enacted by choice, but rather server problems overwhelming the hard-working staff at my local internet provider, Micro-Management. Not to worry, they did indeed receive an unappreciative phone call from yours truly.

Now, the day and a half I spent without any online access was expectedly arduous, only partially saved by watching a Johnny Cash biopic (which, for that sort of thing, I thought was pretty good) and spending several hours reading Everyday Irrationality which is sure to be included in an upcoming Matt. Book Review. Still, just how difficult I found spending over 24 hours away from the online world was a bit worrying, if not entirely surprising.

On a side note, I logged online after gaining access again late last night only to find that my mother, well aware that my internet had been down, had e-mailed me several times anyway and even asked me how I was coping without the internet in one of the e-mails. As astute readers will point out, an e-mail I obviously could not read without the internet.

So, at least now you know which side of the family my genius doesn’t come from.

I don’t think I could go a whole 24 hours without checking OD, let alone not having the rest of the internet at my perusal. I applaud you.

Oh, I’ve been going without internet for days at a time. At first it was HORRIBLE, I couldn’t stand not checking myspace, and OD, and email… but as the time keeps extending I find it quite refreshing not relying on the internet for entertainment.

Mum’s are the cutest things :DRYN: I don’t want to point the finger because this girl is probably friends with others on my list, given the interwoven nature of life here. I’d never read her diary before, but found I was on her favourites list, able to read her FO posts. It was one of her favourites who noted me, asking why we’d written, word for word, the same thing. ::shakes fist::

RYN: I think D’Amore is a great Manager, but its also proven that he is a great trainer, I know its alot of money but he has had sucess with so many other stars I really feel like I have nothing to loose.

that must be really hard goin wit out internet for a whole 24 hrs (sarcasm) dude i can go 3 weeks with out internet and im 12 i love to go on the internet but i kno when i need to stop.

Matt, you just got told off by a 12 year old girl. I find this horribly amusing and am now leaving you a pathetic note about it. Yes, maybe you have a problem. Should quit the internet.
