Happy Birthday…

To my first-born 🙂 Stephen turned 21 today…TWENTY-ONE!! He has seemed like a grown man to me for a while now but he is legally a man now. He has gone out with some friends and texted me earlier to tell me he bought a daquari and was I.D.ed. He got a kick out of that. They are going to the casino now.

He asked me earlier today if it seems like yesterday that I had him and I told him no because for me it was a lifetime ago, literally. I was 21 years old when I had him and now am 42 so that’s half my life. He said wow Mom, I’ve been with you for half of your life, that’s cool. I couldn’t be more proud of him! He works hard every summer on the pipeline, goes to college and makes good grades, has a sweet girlfriend that I’m sure he will marry one day, loves his Mama and treats me so good. He comes home every holiday and any other chance he gets and genuinely enjoys being with us. He will do well in life, I have no doubt about that!

I’ve spent the past couple of days cleaning and trying to get all the laundry done. Yesterday my sister came over and helped me move that big desk out of the kitchen and into the playroom. I’ve been wanting to do that for a long time but Jose’ thought the computer had to be hooked to the wireless receiver in order for it to work. It doesn’t. I waited until he was gone and moved it and of course he loves all the extra room in the kitchen. I put two baker racks where the desk was and put my new cookware on it, my cook books, a lamp and candle and a couple more small things. It looks SO good! The desk looks much better in the playroom.

Tomorrow I have my appointment with the orthopedic doctor to find out what’s going on with my shoulder. I’ve already had xrays so I’m not sure what else they will do. I know I don’t want to have surgery to fix whatever the problem is so I’m hoping that’s not what he suggests. For now I will just have to deal with the pain because I have too much going on with this being Kaylyn’s Senior year to be trying to recover from a surgery like that. Jose’ doesn’t have to work tomorrow so he’ll stay with the kids and my sister is going with me to the doctor. I sort of look forward to a day to myself even if it is to go to the doctor.

I can’t believe your baby boy is 21!!!! NO WAY! Sounds like a good day, if you ask me. Praying about your appointment tomorrow. {{{HUGS}}}

so hard to believe that he turned 21… considering we’ve been online friends since michaela was 2 months old! i’ve basically watched him grow up.

I stumbled across your note in another diary, and I thought I’d say hi… I’m just coming back to od after several years and looking to get a new circle of friends… BTW what caught my eye was that your husband’s name is Jose’ which is the same as my husband and I just don’t met very many other people that do in my area of the country!
