Tuesday – May 22nd, 2012

Tuesday arrived as Tuesday often does – busily, and with a vague sense of weariness to it, largely tied to the new policy issues mentioned the other day.

It was a reasonably steady pace though, and a lot of our usual but recently missing poker crowd was in attendance for the weekly tournament. Funny, really.   6 busses in the parking lot, and we were busier than last night with 12-13.

A couple of our former employees were in the casino drinking last night as well, and we were thinking we might have to cut them off, but they buggered off before the need truly arose – so that was simple enough.

TV was even blessedly stocked with more than repo/storage shows as AMC showed a couple of Dirty Harry movies back to back, so that was cool. Even had one of our native regulars hanging out at the bar watching the flick with me, which was good as he’s usually a bit more stand-offish. May have made an inroad there.

I took my second break late to minimize financial damage (I was tired), but on the way back, I was delighted to find that the Dirty Harry movies had given way to Escape from LA, a personal favorite of mine.

The night was over soon after that, and I headed home for some much needed rest.

Closing Observations:

• Our former bartender who was here tonight has let himself go a bit.  Definitely not what he used to look like when he was slinging booze. On the other hand, I don’t look much different from when I started, and I was hoping the extra activity would slim me up a bit.  Glass houses, stones, yada yada yada.
• One of these days I’ll get brave enough to put Aliens on the big projection screen with the house sound on.  Maybe if I’m about to quit anyway or something.   Ok, no. Probably not.  Fun thing to think, though.
