History boys

This week I am reading The History Boys, a play by Alan Bennett from 2004. The play was made into a film, by the BBC.  I have nearly finished the play and am enjoying reading it just as much as I have enjoyed seeing the film, several times.  I also say the play at one of my local theatres. It is very witty, full of hilarious one-liners and packed with characters who come to life. Even in 2004, it would have shocked as many people as it amused. Bennett is no stranger to controversy. His humour makes him one of the best playwrights in the UK, today.
