A Doctor’s Visit during Covid

I had my monthly appointment with my Pain Management Doctors and they really changed how things are done. Even last month wasn’t as strict as it was today.  It goes like this… You cannot be admitted into the office if you have a cough, shortness of breath or any cold or flu like symptoms… they will reschedule you when you are no longer showing symptoms. You also cannot be admitted unless you wear a mask. When you get inside, you have to stand in the red tape they have on the floor so not to come too close to the receptionist. One she verifies all your information you get your temperature taken and asked to sanitize your hands before walking away.  And they have signs on every other seat saying you can’t sit there. They quit counting our pills because they won’t touch anything of ours and they are not doing vitals until this is over.  Also no drug urine screenings or bloodwork. Boy have things changed! I was only in there about 10-15 minutes tops!

Anyway, afterwards I went and filled my meds then went home to turn on my air conditioner. I’m having a little trouble with it this year. It’s leaking badly on the inside of the window. I put a towel down to catch the dripping and it soaks an entire towel in the spasm of an hour to hour and a half. I’m constantly switching out towels and throwing them in the dryer. My dad said it is because my brother didn’t tilt it backwards a little. He’s suppose to walk over when he has time to try and fix the problem. I hope it’s today sometime. I’m also in the middle of making Chocolate Mousse Mini Oreo Cheesecakes. I just finished the second layer (the cheesecake) so I’m waiting for it to cool before I make the mousse that tops it. It’s by far the most complicated dessert I’ve made yet. I usually stick to pretty easy recipes. For dinner tonight I’m making smothered burritos. I hope my son comes home for them, there will definitely be enough for us and leftovers for my parents.

I guess that’s all for now. Stay cool and comfortable my friends!

@curiousgeorgina_1 I tried to fix it myself and accidentally knocked the air conditioner out the window. Luckily the neighbor was out and came and put it back in and tilted it for me. No more leak!

Our doctors are not making appointment for any office visits.  the only place that you can go to is the ER.  And if you need a doctor you call on the phone and talk to them and whatever you want that you have had before they will give you a refill and probably another refill.

@jaythesmartone This is a specialist, not a primary doctor and the types of medications I need refills on cannot be called in or sent electronically. You have to have a paper slip by law. Plus Ohio’s reopened now for the most part and doctors are seeing patients again.

@mamaqueenie518

Here our doctors have made special arrangements with the Provinces health care and have changed the paper refills just for now…..I twill be interesting to see how many new cases are going to come…The USA has more then 100 thousand deaths because of this virus and 1.7 million confirmed cases…..Just be safe my friend.

Ive had a few drs appointments during COVID and its been a similar experience.  2 of my drs are out of our local hospital.  They temp check you before even coming in, need to have a mask on, have to keep distance etc.   As scary as it is to go to the appointment, the offices were so empty when I went.  The one dr’s office is usually so jammed packed that you wait 2 hrs when you are there….on Friday I was the only one!

Smothered burritos sound delicious.

Saw in your note that you got your air conditioner problem fixed. Yay! Now just enjoy.

Your cheesecake sounds amazing! You must love to cook and bake. 😊

I have a doctors appointment coming up. I think I’ll call ahead and see what his restrictions are during this virus mess.

Take care
