Barefoot Poet’s Journal

Day Two: Dispatch from the Waiting Room

Visiting the Eye Doctor: Waiting for the Dilation to Begin

We are all waiting, a mixed crew,

Old and Young, some Wheelchair bound others hobbling on canes,

Ladies reading paperback books, or e-books on their cell phones,

One girl with pigtails watching TV.

People chatter quietly.

Clerks call out to each other, laughter erupts from their  corner,

As they ignore us waiting people.

Where is the doctor?

What’s the hold up?
