i <3 cuttlebug
time for my daily sick-o entry.
i promise to keep it short. the sick part, anyway.
i’m not any better. last night was terrible. my left eye (the goopy one, that i’ve suspected pink eye in) felt like it had a freakin’ cheese wedge lodged in it or something. i searched high and low for the culprit and only ended up drying it out. it hurt sooo freaking bad. i put a hot tea bag on it, and then a wet washcloth, which i fell asleep with. matt had given me some of his strong night-time meds to knock you out….yeah. i took them around 8? and it only kept me asleep til about 11:45. at which point….i was wide ass awake and could not sleep. i ended up propping myself up in the recliner with my body pillow and my snuggie and snoozed there til about 7am. It wasn’t the most comfortable…but i couldn’t breathe or stop coughing if i tried to lay down so it was better than not sleeping at all.
UGH!
ibuprofen, sudafed, & coffee…….they are my lifesavers right now.
i’m still struggling over whether or not i should take matt’s left over antibiotics. i counted, and he has enough for 6.5 days. you’re supposed to take them for 10, so i’m worried about mutating whatever the hell this is. is that bizarre? should i just take them? help 🙁
okay, enough sick talk.
some good news. as i’ve mentioned before, everytime matt gets a pay check, a certain amount of money automatically transfers to me. we call it my "allowance", jokingly…but really it’s meant to be an outlet for me since i didn’t have one for sooo long while we got into the swing of things on one income. the point of it is to allow me to go out for lunch with people, or stop at the store, or go to bingo, or buy scrapbooking supplies without having to ask matt for money. and it’s not that he didn’t want me asking him….it’s that i never ask. he knew there were things i felt were missing and didn’t want me to feel bad asking anymore. it’s just, my nature. i don’t ask.
well. he got an extra paycheck. BOA paid him on one of his "off" weeks to close out 2009, and because he got money…so did i. despite it being a smaller check, i still got the same amount because that’s how he has it scheduled. he encouraged me to buy something crafty. don’t have to tell me twice! (btw, he is oddly…overly supportive of my scrapping blog…he thinks it’s perfect for me and is like, way way excited about it for some reason??)
so, anyway….i took miss carrie b.’s advice (thank you again!!! seriously, i owe you) and checked out the cuttlebug merch at michaels. remember how i said i was stalking the cuttlebug at a store online? it was the CHEAPEST you could find it anywhere – cheaper than ebay, cheaper than amazon, cheaper than overstock. well…michael’s had it for the same price! it was only $39.99!!! and getting it at michael’s saved me the shipping at that online site. it retails at $89.99 so that, is a freakin’ steal. i also bought two more embossing folders (lots of dots, i think it’s called…and happy birthday. one was $2.49 and the other was $2.99). AND, their punches were 40% off so i got the fiskars treading water punch which i was sooo daydreaming about! i think i got that for $8 (it’s normally $15). you can see all this stuff on my blog shortly. i played with it very briefly when we got home (because matt had noo idea what embossing meant lol…and even though he was excited for me to get it he didn’t have the slightest clue what it was). i just embossed a few scraps with each folder…matt was like "oooh, that’s fancy!". silly boys.
next week (assuming i’m feeling better) i’m going back to stock up on ribbon, a white gel pen (i know, sounds lame, but i neeeed it), some more ink pads, etc.

speaking of that. ugh. i’ve been so sick i’ve barely thought about luke’s party. i’ve been SO BAD!!! i feel like i need some help…this sickness has seriously slowed me down. i JUST got his invites out yesterday…isn’t that terrible? i had them all printed and the envelopes all stamped up with the snowflake stamps…i just had to address them & put postage on them. but, in the chaos of the holidays, and then everyyyyone being sick in this house i just, kept forgetting! i hope it’s enough time for everyone.
i do have a lot of decor purchased already, which is great. but…i still have to figure out how to make a snowman cake. i have to buy stuff for goodie bags and games, as well as table clothes and streamers. i have to make the food list and shop for that. i have to make signs for stuff (which will be easy, a la cricut). i have to make like… 7,000 paper snowflakes, and buy string to hang them. i have to find an outfit for luke. and i have to completely clean the crap out of this house. and i have to do it all in 8 days, while still being sick for probably AT LEAST half of those. ahhh!!!
oh and? i have to somehow find time to plan his second party at matt’s mom’s that’s most likely on the 30th….and that includes putting another guest list together and sending out MORE invites. freakin’ A i need a secretary.
alright i’m gonna go…..curl up, and try to ease my headache….and probably internally flip out about all that has to be done.
