Long weekend

A long week ended with flood level flash floods in Friday. They got so bad they came in the front door of the office so we had to close. The road we all had to drive down had water flowing like I had never seen. The new houses at the bottom of that road saw their wheelie bins floating off. The office car park had I e of the three manhole covers pop and make it difficult for cars to leave … But we did.

Yesterday, Saturday, was a bit meh in most respects but meant a couple of trips to the top to dispose of stuff for recycling as the nun had decided the garden needed more makeover.

Plants were moved old broken metal pots recycled and weeds removed most with roots so they might not return.

Me I got to building a new seat…wood with a small table between for night sitting with a book or kindle and of course a glass of wine. The

I also did prune the roses but the climbers now need the extension loppers to prune the high ones.

The house sparrows now have a nest or two in the eaves

We had a lot of heavy rain last week. Our backyard slopes down, so it looked like a pond back there. Hoping for more clear weather this week and wishing you the same. Flash floods are no fun.

The foods sound scary. Good to get all of your yard work done, I’m sure it looks lovely.

@cdn021mudder It was not good but fortunately it has now gone and, in true British form, we are moaning about it being hot in the mid 20s (70s in Fahrenheit terms) Never happy us Brits lol
