Weather

The weather is all screwed around. Sometimes freezing and frosty or like today (and yesterday) up in the 20 degree levels (68+ for Fahrenheit people). Trees are green or covered with blossom, green shoots plus aphids are bursting out on the roses (really must finish pruning the old bits and other stuff I didn’t finish last year)…as for the dawn chorus yes it sounds stunningly gorgeous – just not at 430 in the morning. No, seriously the birds need to sleep longer and have consideration for the neighbours lol

The sunburn is already evident on those Brits whose only other time for sun is when they go abroad – I jest but the number of burns I see (including the follicularly challenged) is ridiculous. People really do not listen or learn and then blame other people for their own poor choices. Then they go drinking and having a barbecue (charcoal is always good to eat!) and then shout and argue.

What is it with people that they think that to have a good or great time they need to be drunk preferably to not remember. No I just don’t get it…never did, never will.

And I cannot ignore that Grade 1 self-serving narcissist in America. His latest ridiculous ill-informed misleading outburst about knife crime in London just beggars belief. As someone who has had more people murdered by those using guns under his watch than anyone else except during war I despair. To say that UK hospitals, specifically one in London, are running with blood is rhetoric of the worst grandiose outbursts ever. Yes there have been stabbings but they are just being reported more. Not deaths, not mass stabbings but occasional stabbings often between those in gangs. Is there an issue with gangs? There are gangs but not in the same way and certainly not with the massive influence that there are in sy – America (North or South).

Yes the orange idiot really does need to look at his own house. Maybe he does need, as do others in the American lawmaking system, grow some balls and actually rein in the use of guns. If a nation in the 21st century is so wedded to its guns one has to wonder why and what the mentally of the people is. Are they holding on to some misguided notion of being a settlers from the 17th century that means they cannot let go? Do they see the gun as the sign of power or having made it? I really just don’t get it.

Ultimately the US has to live with the decision to allow virtually unfettered, poorly policed gun ownership but how many are going to die before their lawmakers realise this needs to be addressed…and how long before their arrogant ridiculous president gets taken to task?

I don’t get it either, and I live here. It’s horrifying, and gets worse all the time. I think part of the problem is extreme paranoia- you must be armed at all times in case …. well, in case of WHAT I’m not sure. And sure, people do get killed in knife attacks. One or two people, vs. 20 or 30 + when the killer has an automatic weapon. But guns don’t kill people and if you get rid of guns you have to get rid of cars and etc etc etc. There are many reasons I want to move to England, but sane gun laws are one.
