It’s not a job…
It’s not a "job", it’s a favor for a friend. My friend the biker bought a 1964 VW Bug that is so very original. He doesn’t have a computer and doesn’t really want one – he’s going to be 59 this summer, so I’ll take the pics and write the ad. He wants me to list it on Samba – lot’s of bugs for sale there, but I need more pictures of it. The car is very nearly original – it does not have 46 years of use on it – in fact, many of the replacable parts are original. The story we heard when he bought it was that the guy he got it from bought it in California, where it had been a movie prop car, in storage. It looks like it. LOOOOwW miles on it – it has never turned over 100,000, so that 15,000 miles (or less, I forget – gotta note that too for the ad) is original mileage.
It is either original or fully restored inside – it is CLEAN and NEW looking. It’s got a sunroof too – extra points for the sale. It’s not quite "new" looking elsewhere, but for sure it doesn’t have 46 years of use showing on it. No body damage. New tires and the original six volt electrical system in it – rare, as a lot of them were changed over to the more common 12 volt system.
I need a lot of pictures for it, I think, because it truely is a "good" old car. It’s a favor for my friend, not a job, but it is an assignment I need to work on, and since it’s not raining, and maybe won’t (although it’s fully overcast with clouds). I need to go do that right now, while the weather holds.
