Job interview

VocRehab set me up with a job developer, who has been looking for and applying for jobs for me.  I got a call today regarding a care-giver job, helping teenage boys who have cognitive difficulties in Troutdale, and rather than just apply, the job developer and I are going to go out there tomorrow for a kind of job interview.  Many people have told me that I would be good at this sort of thing (and the meds are helping me a lot) so I asked the developer to look into that kind of job.  It would be 6 -8 hours a day, 2 or 3 days a week – not full time, which is fine with me, and while it doesn’t pay much above "minimum wage", I can see where it would be a rewarding job to help people.  There might be some driving, but it sounds like I’m just more or less "being there" for people, to help them and to spend time with them.  I’ll let you know how it goes tomorrow.

I think you would be good at this work, too. You have empathy for other people and your own life hasn’t been easy.
