Monday

Monday again.  Only so many to go til the end of the school year.  Someone’s marking a count-down in the driver’s room.

Suits me, I think.  This working 20 some days straight is kinda old.  These are pretty full months of school, and thus buses are needed.  The newspaper comes out every day, weekends included, so there’s no real time off there, and besides, it’s only two short shifts that make a decent paycheck – no expenses.

Even so….

I got some new glasses a few weeks ago, and really like them.  In fact, I wished I’d had ’em this afternoon, instead of the sunglasses I kept on (new lenses in those).  I left the glasses case in the van cuz I didn’t want to carry it, and by the time I was picking up the high school kids, my eyes felt like they had icepicks in them, cuz the light had dimmed rather drammatically.

Here’s a recent pic I took on my balcony:

It turns out that new "Transitions!" lenses are the old photogray lenses (in this case, photobrown) with a new name to market them.  I dunno about that, but they work nicely for me.  It’s nice to be able to see sharply again.  I really like the anti-reflective coating too – makes ’em really nice to wear at night, so the last coupla paper deliveries have been that much better.

Got the insurance statement in the  mail the other day – turns out a professional optometrist is pretty pricey.  These glasses did end up costing me out of pocket, but I’m pretty happy with them, all in all.  I just paid for the new lenses in my sunglasses – same frames, just new prescription, in brown polorized lenses.

Blacky is such a handsome fellow. Those are nice glasses! Amazing what a difference being able to see in all conditions makes in a day. And you’ve got quite a tan already so I’m guessing you are getting your share of sun. Now…how many more days until Memorial Day? That’s when you get your first day off, isn’t it?

I like the glasses 🙂

You rock! I always have Sundays off, but not always any other days, so I can sort of empathize. I’m just worried about my summer paychecks (which I don’t get, since I don’t work for the community college in the summers).

🙂 Nice glasses

Nice new shades there… transitions work well, but they don’t darken inside cars – due to the glass in car windows, so it’s advisable to have prescription sunglasses to put on when driving. I have a pair of transition glasses, tho I don’t wear glasses often because I prefer my contact lenses. I see better in my contacts too. Blacky is such a cutie.

I’m pretty close to legally blind, unforntuately. I cannot walk aroudn without my glasses, unfortntately. I’m hopeless at night, and refuse to drive unless it’s neccessary, and cannot drive without contact lenses. I cannot wait for the day that I can afford laser surgery. It will not happen soon, but I cannot wait for the day, not after waiting after the years of wearing coke thick glasses since the age of seven! We have dogs. Gir will be shaved soon, to help with the shedding. Tika is short haired, so her inconienece should end soon without our interference. Good times, right? I hope you are doing well. Always looking good! Take care.

Great glasses! You look younger than your age (even after all your self-confessed hard living) what’s your secret? I quite liked wearing glasses – but my eyes changed and I don’t need them anymore. Weird eh?
