Monday misc

Yeah.. Monday.  Another week begins.  It’s August already!  Today is the 12th 90 f plus day we’ve had here.  All in all, it hasn’t been too bad a summer yet.  But, thank god I have working A/C this year!

Watching the news, I am so glad I filled my gas tank today- Prudhoe Bay in Alaska is offline as of this afternoon, and they say that gas will get even more expensive.  And ya know that the oil companies will be posting record profits yet again….

Gas will likely hit 4 bucks a gallon by the time K* get here next month.  I was hoping to make it to Crater Lake this year….

After next week, I will own my van.  Up until now (ok, this week) I was the nominal owner of a van owned by a creditor.  I’ve owed the boss the van’s inititial price, plus all the maintenance I’ve had to do on it that he paid for, putting it on my account.  I was paying it off by working six days a week, but only getting paid for 5.  From next week, I’ll own my van AND get paid 60 some dollars more a week.  To put it another way, after this week, I will own the title to the van.  It’ll be mine, all mine, lol. (and more money is good)

Meanwhile on the news, it’s all about the war criminals at play, screwing the lives of hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people.  More than 20 times as many Lebanese have died as Isrealis.  Lebanon looks like it has been almost completely destroyed.  The US has no credibility with anyone as a broker in that area – it’s blind support of Isreal is killing us overseas.

I’ve got one thing to say about it.  If that’s the way God’s chosen people act, I want nothing to do with such a god.

I’ve been poor lately and haven’t seen my friends, A & J for many weeks, but yesterday, I went over to their place and saw my number one photo subject this year, Johnson Creek.  Now, in August, it doesn’t like so much like a creek as it does like a series of ponds or pools.  Check it out:

It is very low!

A & J invited me to stay for dinner, but I said no, I gotta go, and came home and hit the market, went over to the store on the corner where we park our stepvans and got my drop sheet for this week and came home and made coffee.  I had not my cellphone with me all day, so I was kinda surprised when it rang on my desk.

It was A, and he said "guess what you forgot?"  I had gone over there with my vaccuum and had spent some time cleaning my van up, and I knew I had that with me… so "I dunno- what’d I forget?"

"Your camera."

D’oh!!!

I forgot my digi-cam!

I drove right over and got it back, but I saw this too and hada get a pic:

Yet another photo-worthy sunset on Johnson Creek.

‘Twas a good day yesterday, and since it’s payday today, it is another good day, and, in light of the news, a full tank of gas is good too.

One more night of work, then a night off.  Tomorrow’s laundry night….

Congrats on getting that van paid off…good for you. The sunset photo is beautiful. My camera isn’t as good as yours for taking the extreme lighting photos…and then again maybe it’s an operator deficiency.

I’m glad that you are getting your van paid off! That’s got to feel good. Gas is so expensive here – $3.13 a gallon. My family is paying $2.88 a gallon. Much more of these high prices, and I’m going to buy a horse, and buggy. lol. Well have fun.
