Practice
The reformat has taken, minus some time off for other things, about twelve hours now. The basic reformat took only about an hour, but I have had to reload the printer, the video card (which caused me to have to do this all, I think) the sound card, the scanner, and the USB hard drive. I had to reload the anti-virus stuff (Windows Defender) and this, that, and that other thing, and I’m STILL downloading "updates" from Microsoft.
Couple of hundred of them so far, and I can’t reload some things until the system is all "up to date".
I am not sure my Sitemeter is still on here or not; I can’t seem to get it to stay on the editor page.
"Practice". I have reformatted this computer, umm, four times now? Twice in 2012 that I’m sure of.
It’s kind of nice to have a "clean, fresh" machine to work with, but godalmighty, it takes soo long to get it working "right" again.
It’s 6 am now – I had to wait until 5 am to do the Unemployment claim – they are ‘down for maintenance" from midnight to five, and I had to wait a little longer to finish downloading stuff from Windows Update. The first time I did this it took days to get it right, so this is the fastest time yet.
"Practice makes Perfect"?
