Hardly In Control

I keep telling myself that I don’t need another one of these, but yet, here I am, contemplating making this move.  If I was completely broke, this wouldn’t even be a consideration, but because I could do it and not have it set me back in the slightest, I am at this odd and somewhat dumb crossroad.

Truthfully, I don’t need another Xbox One X controller.  I don’t.  I have what I would consider to be more than enough of these controllers, of all different colors and designs.  But damn, that controller pictured above, now that’s a beauty.

This controller is modeled and themed after the upcoming DOOM: The Dark Ages game that is scheduled for release in mid-May 2025.  I don’t care for DOOM as a game series.  As of this writing, I’m not looking to buy this game when it comes out next month.  I have zero interest in it.

But damn, here I am, strongly contemplating buying not one controller, but two of these controllers.

In true gamer/collector form, I would buy two of these controllers, one to actually use and the other to keep stored somewhere in its box, sealed and otherwise unopened.  This wouldn’t be the first time I’ve done this very thing.

I have an unopened Spider-man 2 PS5 controller, as well as one that I actually use.

I don’t know.  I’ll figure this out.

I don’t need that DOOM controller, but damn, to me, it looks nice.
