The Worst Movies of 2022

In a few days, I’ll do a Best Movies of 2022 entry… but for now I’m going to start off with the biggest stinkers of the year.

If you’ve seen any of these movies, I am very sorry for you. If you like any of the movies I have listed, feel free to eave a note and we’ll hear you out. Do you think I missed something? It might be because I didn’t see it yet or I didn’t think it was so bad.

This is just one man’s opinion, but let’s discuss it… but this is just my personal opinion.

So, enjoy checking out my worst of 2022 list.

Happy holidays!

Peter

10. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

Wakanda Forever was one of the most anticipated films of the year, and one of its the biggest disappointments. The film has some good features, but a lot of plot holes and dragged out far too long. They could have trimmed at least 40 mins and it wouldn’t have made a difference here. They never even addressed the death of the king, or even how he actually died. The story was poorly handled, and the rest of the film was what you would expect for a movie that only stared the supporting actors and was missing it’s big hero. They should have recast the lead and this crap film is proof of that.

9. The Man From Toronto

This film had great potential, and again the film I saw fall flat on its face. The script was terrible, the jokes were flat and unfunny. The fact that not a single actor was able to pronounce Toronto correctly just made me want to throw a shoe at the screen. Just terrible!

8.  The Bubble

This looks like a great film, but they tried their best to make a comedy about making movies during the pandemic and it felt too close to home for people to get behind. Over the last two years, people have been going to movies to get away from the Pandemic, not be reminded about it. Add in the bad script and terrible improv… this just flat out sucks.

7. The Munsters

Rob Zombie tries to work outside of his comfort zone, and it’s just rough to watch. The cast was flat, and the jokes didn’t work for me. Rob needs to stick to horror cause he totally sucks at doing comedy. I wanted to like it, but it just didn’t work out…

6. Blonde

This was another disappointment that was too busy trying to shock you rather than tell a story that was anywhere near the truth. This film and it’s controversial script is so bad that families of some people mentioned are in the process of suing them for slander/defamation. This film has some interesting character development, but then just tried to hard to shock you with sex, drugs, and then more sex and drugs. I realize some people prefer to show rather than tell, but when it comes to shit like rape, I’d rather be told then shown sometimes. This rated X film badly needed an editor, and a script that was closer to truth than fiction. This movie just sucked, both literally and metaphorically!

5. Ambulance

The more Micheal Bay tries to make serious action films, the more he comes across as a total joke. His earlier films were well received because this kind of cheese and bullshit was more tolerated, and made some serious coin. Today, this kind of fluff action porn is looked down on and no one shows up and that results in some massive box office bombs. This film had a decent premised, but Micheal Bay was too busy trying to meet an explosion quote to actually work on those things instead. Robot Chicken was onto something here… Explosions!!!

4. Don’t Worry Darling

It pains me to put this movie on my worst list, because I was really looking forward to watching this, and it was just a total let down. I was eager to check out Olivia Wilde’s next film after Booksmart was a big hit with yours truly. So imagine my disappoint when this movie let me down despite the great premise, good cast and an up and coming director. Just a total let down and the twist was total dog shit. Ugh, so bad!

3. Morbius

This movie looked good when checking out the trailers. The red flag for me was when the studio edited the film so that it would be PG-13 instead of rated R which was what the film was supposed to be. Could you imagine how bad Blade would have bombed if they edited it to be PG? How about the idea of a vampire movie that has NO FUCKING BLOOD! None! That tells you all you need to know about how bad this film was. I feel sorry for anyone who actually paid to see this piece of crap.

2. Thor: Love & Thunder

I wasn’t the biggest fan of Thor Ragnarok, and this sequel took the worst of that film and cranked those awful elements up to 11. I didn’t mind the whole Jane is Thor too angle, as I actually like that story in the comic books and knew Thor wasn’t being replaced. Both Christian Bale and a killer comic villain were both wasted on this crap film, and Russell Crowe’s showing as Zeus was just garbage, like most of this film. I would rather watch the Dark World five times before giving this crap another chance.

1. Moonfall

I’m not a Roland Emmerich hater, but the man has his fair share of hits and stinkers. For every great film like Independence Day and The Patriot, there are zeros like Godzilla 98 and Day After Tomorrow to even things out. Moonfall sounded interesting but the movie just tried to do too much, making it the most annoying mess to ever come out this year. This film had a hard time trying to figure out what kind a disaster movie it was, and the aliens twist at the end just made things even worse. This film even had the audacity to suggest a sequel… sorry Roland, no sequel for you.

Hmmm, I didn’t care for any of these movies.

I guess our tastes are just different

@nlb333 I didn’t care for them either… these are the WORST of the year, not the best.

So there might be hope for our tastes yet. 🙂
