Tickets, tickets and more tickets

I did a little holiday shopping this morning, since I got an extra huge cheque thanks to some well earned bonuses from the company I work for. The bonus was so huge, I made double on my cheque this week. Yeah, gotta love bonuses like that. So after I took care of the bills, I still had a ton left over and I decided to do a little gift shopping. I went to my local ticketmaster and made a few purchases. One for the kids, one for my wife Leah and because I earned this bonus… one for me. So here is the breakdown of the tickets I got this morning.

Playhouse Disney: In mid-January, I got six tickets to go see Disney’s latest on stage tour. This one has four acts, that being ‘Mickey Mouse’s Clubhouse’, The Little Einsteins, Handy Manny and Tigger and Pooh live on stage. The kids love these shows and I went out of my way to get two tickets for my sister-in-law and my neice, who is also a big fan of the shows. This will be a lot of fun for the kids, and it will give them some time with their cousins. So while it cost a bit to get all those tickets, it will will be worth it cause it counts as a few holiday gifts.

Bon Jovi: The rockers from New Jersey have booked the Roger’s Centre (formerly known as SkyDome) for July 20th. Leah has wanted to see this band forever, and my last few attempts to land tickets have failed. This time out, I managed to land two tickets for this show and Leah will finally have a chance to see her favorite band peform. She will be beside herself, which is why I’m so glad I was finally able to land these tickets.

U2: With everyone else taken care of, I decided to do something for myself. Since I’m such a huge fan and I was tiffed that I missed the two shows they did in September past… I went out of my way to get tickets for my favorite band from Dublin. Leah isn’t too big of a U2 fan, but I think she’ll have a great time, and that will likely be the big concert event for us for 2010.

So those tickets covered a lot of holiday gifts, and I earned that bonus that paid for them so I didn’t feel bad getting all this stuff. Leah and I have two dates to meet some killer bands in July of next year, and that will be a very memorable time for us both. So with the next few big shows taken care of, I can go back to work and have something very cool to look forward to, and that actually helps me get through the hard days when things are rough.

So that’s what I’ve been up to late, just work, work and more work. I hope everyone else is doing all right and I’ll be back later when I have more time and I’m not shopping. Until then, take care.

Peter

Aloha… What fun… spending $$$ on fun stuff…! Smiles…

Ohhh, Bon Jovi… they’re coming near us, but I just can’t stomach the ticket price. I would love to see them, but over $100 per ticket? I just don’t know. :/
