Novel Break
Passive tones.
Mechanical.
A sweating glass sat next to me as I typed.
The dialogue says, “You should work on your novel instead of typing rambling poems that no one reads.”
The author rolled her eyes and confidently replied, “I do what I want.”
Pulling up word and settling in her chair, the author was concerned that her story was not going in the right direction.
One-dimensional characters and POV violations aside, the plot was good but the rest, well- there was work to be done.
