World Cup

This world cup is soooo exciting! I have total World Cup fever, I just love how everybody comes togeather and everybody has a favourite team, even if they aren’t huge soccer fans. As I drive around town in my car I see people with flags on their cars of the country they support and it makes me smile.

I was thinking how special the World cup is, the next time the World cup happens I will be 2 months away from being 30! THIRTY! ME!!! OH MY GOD! Hell I could have a kid by then… oh my god, I just freaked myself out.

I read a stat that 1 in 5 people in the world will watch the world cup. 20% of the Earth’s population will watch this glorious event. It truly is a World cup, it is the only sport the entire world plays. Take hockey for example, they have the world cup of hockey but only 15 countries or something play hockey. With the World cup, the 32 teams that are in it they are the FINAL 32 teams, people forget that this tournment goes on for years! The qualification for the final 32 is a long process. Canada for example was eliminated by Trinidad and Tobago over a year ago. God, I love this sport.

I went to watch the England game on Saturday with my sister at a pub. The entire bar was filled with people wearing England jersey’s, hats, flags, scarfs… it was so great. When England scored, the place went nuts… and we were watching it on TV!! lol

Not much else to talk about I guess, since my life has consisted of only soccer lately. Watching and playing… and throw some work in there for good measure.
