Food for Thought

A lot of reactions in life can be facilitated, but that doesn’t mean the reactor is unwell.

Here’s what I mean.

Imagine I’m a ruthless leader who feels powerful messing with the worker peasants’ lives for fun.

Let’s say I know full well a certain employee is on time or early to work every day, but I still mark him late even when he’s not. I also tell everyone else he’s always late (subordinates, higher-ups, potential employers, etc.).

Additionally, I change the rules of what constitutes “tardiness” on a whim whenever I feel like it. I rig it so that this worker is late no matter what he does. Really late = LATE. On time =LATE. Not late = LATE.

He could show up a half-hour early, risk getting into an accident, change his clock , or pray for God to stop the clock, and it wouldn’t work, lol. I am determined that he will be LATE, and my false narrative will be true.

Then I proceed to tell the worker that he will be fired or his hours will be cut to an abysmal level the next time he is late. So he won’t be able to keep a roof over his head, eat, or buy basic necessities anymore if he’s late. He also won’t be able to get another job because of the false narratives I’ve spread about him.

This circumstance would most certainly facilitate an anxious reaction in any worker thrust under it. Eventually, it would make the person feel like they were fighting for their livelihood and had to find a way to be on time to keep it. Such worker might even get a wee bit irritated if enough “coincidental” monkey wrenches got thrown in the way to make being on time nearly impossible.

That does not mean such worker has an anxiety disorder, but it could appear that way if onlookers have no idea what’s going on behind the scenes.

Any average healthy person would be concerned about losing their livelihood if they had a sicko in a position of authority tampering with their life. Just food for thought. The same applies to other staged/facilitated reactions. They happen.

Always consider what someone might be getting put through. There are some devious folks out there who do like to manipulate things.
