Hot Hot Hot

Running out of car AC freon is not cool. Pun intended. It’s like you’re inside an oven, and opening the windows doesn’t give you any type of relief in the Dirty South. At all.

It seems the vehicle has randomly upgraded itself to a poor folks’ “SRT Hellcat” model. I can see the ad/slogan for it in my head:

“The Brand-New Dodge Blah Blah Faux  SRT Hellcat — Naw, that sh!t ain’t fast! It’s just hot as hell on the inside! *Two thumbs up and a cheesy grin at the end.*

Well, that’s about all of “me” I’m going to share on this page, lol. I thought it would be a nice break.

The song of the day has been “End of the World

“End of the World” is pretty deep and wonderfully blatant. It was clear that the artist (C) had some religious beliefs, probably Catholic/Christian, as he mentioned the crucifix in the lyrics. However, it’s also clear that he knew the world was a hot mess (even in 2009) and that “God” was coming, not to have a cup of tea, but to give the world a smackdown.

It’s pretty much a warning song about the “end times,” delivered in a unique way. It’s been said that there was another verse that mentioned the afterlife more, but it got removed before the final cut because the artist “didn’t want to preach.”

Um … the rest of the song is already blatant as crap, lol. Might as well have gone all the way with it.

LYRICS

When you read the news
Does it make you sick?
Murder, money, and politics
Gonna fill you up
Get your bullshit fix
It’s the end of the world
Grab your crucifix
And fall to your knees
And beg “God please, have mercy on me” (Mercy!)
When you turn on the TV
What do you get?
Sex, lies, scandal, violence
Like the end of a gun
Pressed against your lips
It’s the end of the world
Grab your crucifix
And fall to your knees
And beg “God please, have mercy on me”
When you can’t buy gas
And you can’t pay rent
And what you’ve got left
Is the Government’s
No win
No future
No benefit
It’s the end of the world
Grab your crucifix
And fall to your knees
And beg “God please, have mercy on me”
Coming out of the hypocrisy
Coming out of the bureaucracy
Coming in to lead a war
They’re a shame!
You can ignore what you cannot see
You can believe in a lie
You can run away from anything
Until you open your eyes
No rest for the wicked
Yeah, they never quit
Watching, waiting
For the next trick
We won’t be celebrating
When the atom’s split
It’s the end of the world
Grab your crucifix
And fall to your knees
And beg “God please!, have mercy on me”
Coming out of the hypocrisy
Coming out of the bureaucracy
Coming in to lead a war
They’re a shame!
You can ignore what you cannot see
You can believe in a lie
You can run away from anything
Until you open your eyes
Coming out of the hypocrisy
Coming out of the bureaucracy
Coming in to lead a war
They’re a shame!
