Pretty Brutal Day, Lol
First I’ll say that it was a long and brutal day of scouring for loot, lol. I learned a few valuable lessons during the journey, though.
Lesson #1: They all suck, and I can’t control it, lol. So it’s all about lesser evils. I am very fond of transparency. So if an entity has that characteristic, I will most likely do more for them.
Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying it’s acceptable for them to just say and do whatever. I’m just saying I value transparency and respectful honesty a hell of a lot more than lies and smokescreens. I absolutely hate greed, too, but its one of those things that no corporation is without.
At the end of the day, they will all drop you like a bad habit if they get the least bit nervous. The thing that gets me is they’ll be nervous about stuff I never even thought about doing, lol. I’m just trying to make a living.
Lesson #2: You sorta do have to play some ball here and there. Not enough ball, you get blackballed. Too much ball, you get stepped on and don’t make any money. So there’s that.
Lesson #3: The days of us just working and getting paid good money are all but gone. Nowadays, we also have to work with algorithms in some capacity.
I’m not going to get too much into that, but there’s a technical side to almost everything these days. You either have to train the algorithms, or they’ll train you. Option B is brutal. Option A requires patience and can be rough during the adjustment period. Most of the time, I don’t have the time or patience for all that. But when we’re talking about survival, it’s a different story.
Yah, soooo, like I was saying earlier, I had an interview. Dude already had a plethora of assumptions in his head when I visited. Assumption #1: I am applying for many different jobs at once.
Nope. It was just two, and the reason I put the other one off is because I knew I was being tracked. I prioritized the company that didn’t use AI bots for their hiring processes and decided to try to go for that one first. F AI, robots, and algorithms.
Assumptions #2-5: Who knows, but I can guarantee they’re all dead wrong.
Aside from all that, I ran into to some cool people again today. They’re out there. Just few and far between.
