The Very Best Times

One’s silence or ambiguity about their circumstances isn’t always a matter of “pride.” Sometimes, it’s just the wisdom to know not to waste their breath.

Some people will judge you wrongfully when you have hardships — no matter what you tell them — because of their inherent need to feel “superior” to you for whatever reason. They will provide “counsel” in the vain of Job’s friends and wife (Job 2:9, 4:7-8, 8:20, 11:14-15, 17).

It doesn’t matter what type of hardship it is (inevitable job loss, financial loss, emotional pain, sickness, natural disaster, other loss, bad day, etc.). You’ll likely get poor advice, a wrong assumption, several jabs, a wish for worse, a call to “repent” for ???, a cue to ditch your faith, or an eerily demonic smirk because of their darkened hearts in that moment.

Others will have an ear open for your hardship for the wrong reasons but won’t help even if they can. They’ll swear they’re “good people,” but in reality, they are not much different from the others because they will revel in your misfortune just the same.

Then there are those who can’t assist but will truly wish you well, and those who can help and wish you the best.

The majority of people don’t care about other people’s problems or struggles, though, and some even enjoy them. So it’s always best to seek the Kingdom first.

The Heavenly Father always cares and is always available to listen and comfort. He’s always there to provide the “daily bread” and whatever else we need.

What we actually need isn’t always the same as what we think we need, though, and it can be difficult to let something “important” or longstanding go if He doesn’t allow it to be salvaged.

That’s where trust and faith come in. They’re required during those times when we can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel — when there is no simple solution — when we don’t know where we will be on some unpromised tomorrow in the future.

Those are the very best times of all to commune with Him and request an increase in faith and trust to get through.
