Christmas 2005

Christmas Day was beautiful here in Orlando. We reached a high of about 75 degrees and it was sunny and a little breezy.

I took some pictures of Mom by the pool to send up north to family struggling with 8-10 inches of snow. That should make them jealous!  :0

We had a great meal. We went with a beef roast, potatoes, mixed vegetables, rolls and cherry pie for dessert. None of us wanted the traditional ham or turkey this year. We followed our usual deal of Al doing the clooking and Mom and I cleaning up. A lot fewer dishes than Thanksgiving!

After the meal, Al took a nap. Mom and I took down the Christmas decorations. They’ve been up since Thanksgiving and I couldn’t wait to get them down. It’s soooo nice to have my house back in order. Luckily I didn’t have to mess with a tree this year. Max is still too much of a puppy and would not have left it alone, I’m sure. Next year we should be able to put one up.

Mom and I hit a few sales this morning but there was just so much traffic and not much either of us needed or wanted. We came home early and worked on getting the decorations boxed up and ready to be put in the attic. I can now get my vehicle back in the garage so I’m happy.

Work as usual tomorrow and then we’re off again next Monday for New Years. I think Mom enjoyed herself this year for the first time in a very long time. I know these cold winters have been hard on her and neither B or S takes any time to check up on her. She’s 80…how much snow can she shovel??

Signing off to get ready for work tomorrow. I still have to do a couple of loads of laundry and get my hair washed. I want to go in early since I’ve been out since last Wednesday.
