Flying high…

This past weekend I enjoyed my first coaster trip of 2025 as a friend and I spent almost three days between Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Kings Dominion. We got to ride pretty much every coaster we wanted to ride, and while the weather on Friday and Saturday was hot, we did not have to contend with rain. My total coaster count has now made it up to 223 different coasters. I am also happy now that my friend and I both want to visit Cedar Point sometime this year, and so we are planning a trip in late August. Hopefully that will bring my count up by another four coasters. That takes away some of the disappointment of not being able to go to Coastermania. We will also be going to Knoebels, a small family run park in Pennsylvania with the Phoenix, an awesome wooden coaster, later this summer. There my friend will mark her 100th coaster by riding the Phoenix.
Here are lots more pictures of my trip.
Otherwise, it’s back to work for me, as I am rushing to finish up some jobs I have that have close deadlines. There is no news on the status of the Key Bridge project either. Supposedly they are to begin demolishing the remains of the old bridge this spring or summer, but there isn’t a lot of spring time left. It would not surprise me if they fall behind, as that is par for the course for public works projects of this scale. I also plan on walking the Bay Bridge again later this year in the fall, and as of now a date is set (November the 9th). I am also secretly hoping to be able to make a trip to Florida to walk the Tampa monster next year. The only issue with that one is that there is a lottery for spots on the run/walk, as it is so popular. They also restrict the number of people to about half of what the Bay Bridge Run had last year. If I can make it in January of 2026, I might just put in for that lottery this fall…
